Player – Senior Flag

Colts – #85

2003 – 2019

After the 2019 season David announced he would play one more time, but for the Wigan Bandits with his son, David Jnr, which he duly did at Flagging Iron Man 2020. While he remains a supporter of the club, and a non-playing member, the teams will miss his determination and harsh wit.

In 2019 “Stonehands” played with the Grangemouth Colts in the BAFA Division 1 HNC Conference

David Mooney is the elder statesman of our club. He has been playing with the Broncos since 2003 and is number two in the senior games played with 167. He is currently ranked number 5 in the all-time points scored for the Broncos Senior team with a minimum of 428 recorded points.

When the new team was announced “Stonehands” volunteered to step back from the Club Head Coach role to concentrate on the Colts, and the Club agreed.
