Broncos in Action at Forth Bowl – 17th Sept

The Broncos will be in action at the Dulloch Sports Centre in Dunfermline on the 17th of September. The Forth Bowl will consist of 12 teams, two groups of six, each playing five games to sort out the seeding for the placement games.
The Broncos have drawn the Carnegie Open, Carnegie Steelers, Clyde Comets, Dunbeth Dragons and Edinburgh Outlaws in their group. Some tough looking games for a Broncos team aiming to more or less turn the depth chart upside down.
The club coaches are hoping to use this tournament in two ways. First, give more game time to some of the players who didn’t feature much during the league season, and second, use the game time to help plan for the split between the Broncos and Colts teams that will be fielded in 2018.
The first game for the Broncos will be against Carnegie Open. That will start at 09:00 sharp. With a lot of games to get through on the day, it will be important to keep to the schedule.
At 09:30, the Broncos will face the Carnegie Steelers. Potentially a tough match if the Steelers are on their game.
After the Steelers, the Broncos will play against the Clyde Comets. Although the Comets were a new team to the league this year, they have a lot of experience. They made the Regional Finals in their first competitive year. This could be the toughest match of the day. That game will start at 10:00
The Broncos then have a 30 minute break before they face the Edinburgh Outlaws at 11:00. Again, this could be a tough match depending on which version of the Outlaws turns up on the day.
Assuming everything is running to schedule, there will then be a 30 minute break for all teams.
At 12:00 the Broncos will face yet another play-off team, the Dunbeth Dragons. The Dragons could be a tough match-up, but depending on their numbers, they may have run out of gas after two tough games in the morning. However, they will have played two less games than the Broncos at this point.
After that game, the Broncos will be on a break then refereeing.
Then the competition turns to the placing games. Each team will play the team from the other group in the same place on the table.
The other group consists of the Aberdeen Oilcats, Carnegie Chargers (Renegades and Chargers combined), Fife Topguns, Glasgow Hornets, Midlothian Sabers and Paisley Spartans.
If the Broncos come out of the Group stages anywhere near the top half, they are going to have a tough game on their hands.
Everyone at the club is looking forward to seeing how we get on with our starters taking a bit of a back seat.
Anyone coming to support the Broncos will be made most welcome.
